‘You’ve Been Checked’ Theft of Motor Vehicle Campaign

Victoria Police partnered with Crime Stoppers for the ‘You’ve Been Checked’ campaign. This campaign encouraged car owners to break the habit of leaving their vehicles unlocked and valuables unattended.

Members of Victoria Police and Crime Stoppers Victoria checked 724 vehicles parked in the Footscray, Thomastown, Geelong, and Dandenong railway station car parks. Each vehicle was checked to see how securely it had been left. A safety kit with anti-theft materials, and a link to additional car security information, was then placed on these vehicles. Read More

‘Dob in a Dealer’ Drug Campaign

The ‘Dob in a Dealer’ campaign launched with Victoria Police in September. This campaign encouraged the communities of Mildura and Shepparton to report what they know to help disrupt the illicit drug trade. The campaign targeted those who profit from illicit drugs, focusing on drug manufacturing and supply. The campaign provided information to help the community learn the signs of the illicit drug trade and what information can be provided to Crime Stoppers. Read More

‘You Never Know Who’s Watching’ Road Safety Campaign

 The ‘You Never know Who’s Watching’ campaign, in partnership with Victoria police launched in November. The campaign targeted reckless and careless drivers by using never released, de-identified footage of drivers behaving badly on our roads. The campaign also encouraged motorists to submit their own footage to Crime Stoppers online reporting platform. Read More

Online Safety Series- Scam Awareness Week

In partnership with BankVic, the Online Safety Series continued to draw awareness and educate the community on online safety. As part of this series and in conjunction with National Scam Awareness Week, ‘Spotting a Scam’ a three-part podcast series by Crime Stoppers Victoria, Victoria Police and BankVic was released.

‘Don’t Buy In’ Illegal Wildlife and Exotic Pest’s Campaign.

In partnership with the Conservation Regulator and Agriculture Victoria the ‘Don’t Buy In’ campaign was launched. The campaign urged the community to speak up about the trade of illegal wildlife and exotic pests.

‘Don’t Buy in’ aimed to stop people from buying pets that have been illegally brought into the country or taken from the wild. The campaign highlighted the things to look out for when buying native wildlife and exotic animals and the penalties that apply for illegal trading. Read More
