Crime Stoppers Victoria is urging the public to come forward with information about the suspected shooting of a Wedge-tailed Eagle in Macedon on Monday, 22 June 2020.

The injured eagle was discovered along Forbes Rd near the intersection of Lawson Rd in Macedon and taken to a local vet.

An examination and x-ray showed a broken wing and fragments of a bullet were found at the site.

It is believed the eagle was deliberately shot.

The eagle had to be euthanised due to the extent of its injuries.

In Victoria, wildlife is protected under the Wildlife Act 1975. Killing or harming protected wildlife is a serious offence.

The Conservation Regulator is appealing for anyone with information to make a report to Crime Stoppers.
