ILLEGAL POSSESSION AND ATTEMPTED EXPORTATION – MELBOURNE CBD AND CARLTON SOUTH – JUNE AND JULY 2018

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) are seeking to identify a man after allegedly making multiple illegal possessions, disposals and attempted exportations of Australian Wildlife in June and July 2018.

It is alleged the man was in unlawful possession of and attempted to export various native Australian animals including Blue-tongue Lizards, Geckos, Monitor Lizards, Pythons, Skinks and Water Dragons.

On Tuesday, 19 June 2018, the offender visited the following Post Offices: Melbourne Bourke Street Post Office, Melbourne GPO Post Office, Flinders Lane Post Office, Franklin Street Post Office and Carlton South Post Office.

On Thursday, 19 July 2018, the offender visited the Carlton South Post Office and is believed to have visited the Caltex Service Station in Werribee.

On Friday, 20 July 2018, the offender visited the Carlton South Post Office and Franklin Street Post Office.

DELWP have released CCTV images of a man whom they believe may be able to assist in their inquiries.

He is perceived to be Asian in appearance and aged in his mid-twenties.

Investigators believe he may be living in NSW.
