Level one offences (more serious), include: Repeat drink driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.10 or more, repeat drug driving, repeat driving while disqualified or unlicensed, speeding at 70 km or more above the speed limit, driving at 170 km/hour in a 110 km/hour zone, driving negligently or dangerously while being chased by the police.
Level two offences include: Drink and drug driving offences, deliberately causing the vehicle to skid, smoke or make excessive noise, deliberately driving across tracks when a train or tram is coming, dangerous driving, disobeying a police direction to stop, having too many people in your vehicle, driving in or organising a speed race, speeding at between 45 and 70 km over the speed limit and speeding at between 145 and up to 170 km/hour in a 110 km/hour zone.
Rural crime, in particular organised crime, significantly impacts on the agricultural industries, primary producers, rural residents and rural / remote communities. Rural Crime can include trespassing, illegal hunting and associated weapons offences, theft (including firearms), fraud, drug offences and offences identified as being of significance to rural residents. Rural crime has an impact within the country community and results in economic loss or financial hardship including contributing to stress upon farmers and their families.
Livestock crime is any offence involving livestock being produced by a primary producer such as but not limited to cattle, sheep, goats, horses, poultry and pigs, crimes associated with horses kept by owners for private use or equine sport and offences relating to wildlife protected under Victorian legislation. Any suspicious behaviour should be reported to Crime Stoppers.
Family violence is defined under the law as any behaviour that in any way controls or dominates a family member and causes them to feel fear for their own, or other family member's safety or well-being. It can include physical, sexual, psychological, emotional or economic abuse and any behaviour that causes a child to hear, witness, or otherwise be exposed to the effects of that behaviour.
Police may take civil and/or criminal and referral action in response to reports of family violence following a FV assessment of the risk of future harm to victims.
