Report Information
SEXUAL ASSAULT – MELBOURNE – THURSDAY, 28 FEBRUARY 2019

Police are seeking to identify a man after an alleged sexual assault on Thursday, 28 February 2019.

At around 7.05pm, the victim was travelling home on the 19A tram from the Queen Victoria Market towards Brunswick.

It is alleged the man boarded the tram at the Haymarket stop, proceeded to stand very closely to the victim and then acted in an inappropriate way before the victim could move to the other end of the tram.

The man then disembarked the tram at the Barkly Square stop in Brunswick.

Police have released CCTV images of a man whom they believe may be able to assist in their inquiries.

The man is perceived to be Middle Eastern in appearance and aged in his mid-to-late 30’s with a dark complexion.

He was wearing an orange Hi-Vis shirt, beige pants, brown work boots and carrying a black bag.
