Police are seeking to identify a group of males after an alleged robbery in the Melbourne CBD on Saturday, 23 March 2019.
At around 2.00am, the victim was walking East along Banana Alley, between Queens Bridge and Sandridge Bridge, when he was allegedly approached by a group of approximately ten males.
Four or five of the group of males then allegedly attempted to take the victim’s phone, he refused and dropped to the ground.
The group allegedly then proceeded to kick and stomp on the victim’s back, next, arms and head until he handed over his phone.
The group then took the phone, running East.
Police have released CCTV images of five males whom they believe may be able to assist in their inquiries.
Persons one, two and four have been exonerated.
The third male is perceived to be African in appearance and ages in his late teens.
He was wearing glasses and a black-and-white striped polo shirt.
The fifth male is perceived to be African in appearance and aged in his late teens.
He was wearing a light brown t-shirt with a cap.
